State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI)
The State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) is a multi-year federal program administered by the U.S. Treasury, providing a combination of credit and investment programs for existing small businesses and start-ups. In addition, the program provides technical assistance for small businesses in the areas of legal, accounting, and finance advisory services.
The Vermont Small Business Law Center, at the Vermont Law and Graduate School, is the designated legal assistance provider for the State Small Business Credit Initiative. SSBCI is administered by the Vermont Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC), and our center is responsible for providing no-cost, one-on-one education and advising on legal matters such as: business formation, governance, registrations, licenses, contracts, direct and convertible investments, venture capital investment, workers Co-op setups, among others. In addition, our center will provide referral services to Vermont attorneys as well as cover the costs of a number of hours of the attorney’s services. If you think your business would benefit from the SSBCI program, please reach out to use by email sblc@vermontlaw.edu, or fill out the request to discuss and receive services at VtSBDC’s website, linked below.
