For owners of new businesses, both launched and soon-to-be launched, join faculty and law students from the Vermont Small Business Law Center of Vermont Law & Graduate school to hear about what legal matters you’ll need to complete or contemplate. Part presentation and part discussion, this session examines legal considerations for choosing the right business structure (LLC? S-Corp? Partnership? Sole Proprietor?), writing an operating agreement, making good contracts, and protecting your intellectual property. And importantly, you’ll learn how to find the right lawyer as you build the foundations of your business: what to expect when you meet with a lawyer, how to prepare for the meeting to get the most out of your time with them, and what help is available for finding a lawyer.

This event is in person at the HUB CoWorks in Rutland. Registration is free, but attendance is limited.
